Service Terms & Conditions
1. Service Scope
M&P Courier Services provides UK B2B time-critical courier support for urgent, same-day, operational, overflow, contract, and dedicated transport requirements.
Services are supplied on a job-by-job basis or through agreed business account arrangements. All work is subject to vehicle suitability, route practicality, collection and delivery availability, and operational capacity at the time of booking.
M&P Courier Services operates as a business-to-business courier service. Services are intended for commercial and operational requirements rather than consumer or general public parcel deliveries.
2. Job Definition
A job is generally understood to mean:
one collection point
one delivery point
one dedicated movement unless otherwise agreed
completion in line with the agreed collection and delivery instructions
completion without material variation to the agreed route, timing, load, or handling requirements
Any variation to the booked requirement, including additional stops, route changes, changed delivery points, revised collection instructions, extended waiting, or material changes to urgency, may result in revised charges.
3. Collection and Delivery Points
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, each booked job includes one collection point and one delivery point.
Additional collections, additional deliveries, return movements, part-load changes, or diverted deliveries will be charged separately or repriced at M&P Courier Services’ discretion.
The client must ensure that collection and delivery locations are accurate, accessible, and suitable for the booked vehicle and the nature of the goods being carried.
4. Distance and Mileage
Charges are based on the agreed job details, including mileage, journey time, urgency, and operational requirements.
Mileage is calculated using recognised route-planning methods based on standard road routes. Where the actual route reasonably changes due to traffic conditions, road closures, diversions, delivery instructions, or operational necessity, charges may be adjusted accordingly.
If the booked movement exceeds the originally agreed distance, M&P Courier Services reserves the right to apply additional mileage charges or revise the total job charge.
5. Waiting Time
Each job includes a waiting allowance of up to 20 minutes at collection and/or delivery unless otherwise agreed.
Waiting time begins when the courier arrives at the agreed location and is ready to collect or deliver.
Where waiting exceeds the included allowance, additional waiting time charges may apply. Waiting time is typically charged in 15-minute increments, although M&P Courier Services reserves the right to apply an alternative reasonable basis where the delay materially affects vehicle availability, scheduling, or onward operational work.
6. Additional Charges and Variations
Additional charges may apply where a job differs from the original booking or creates added operational demand.
This includes, but is not limited to:
additional stops
mileage beyond the agreed movement
waiting time beyond the included allowance
re-delivery attempts
diverted journeys
changed collection or delivery instructions
out-of-hours work where not originally agreed
unusually urgent response requirements
abnormal loading, unloading, or handling delays
tolls, parking, congestion, or site-related access costs where applicable
any requirement that materially changes the time, route, urgency, or resources needed to complete the job
Where reasonably possible, revised charges will be communicated when the variation becomes known. Where immediate operational action is required, M&P Courier Services may proceed first and confirm revised charges as soon as practicable.
7. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for ensuring that:
goods are ready for collection at the agreed time
collection and delivery details are accurate and complete
appropriate contact details are provided
access is available at both collection and delivery points
any site restrictions, booking procedures, or delivery reference requirements are disclosed in advance
the goods are suitably packaged for safe road transport unless specific alternative arrangements are agreed
the nature of the goods and any special handling requirements are disclosed before dispatch
Delays, failed attendance, additional handling time, or wasted journeys caused by incorrect information, unavailable goods, restricted access, missing references, or poor readiness may result in additional charges.
8. Failed or Delayed Collections and Deliveries
If goods are not available for collection on arrival, or delivery cannot be completed due to site access issues, recipient unavailability, incorrect details, refusal to accept, or other circumstances outside M&P Courier Services’ control, the job may be treated as a failed or delayed movement.
In such cases, M&P Courier Services may:
apply waiting time charges
charge for a wasted journey
charge for re-delivery or re-attempted collection
return the goods to the collection point or another agreed location at additional cost
hold the vehicle pending instruction, subject to waiting time and operational availability
Where a delay materially affects scheduling or prevents continued completion of the original movement, M&P Courier Services reserves the right to stand the vehicle down and treat any resumed work as a new or revised job.
9. Urgent and Time-Critical Work
M&P Courier Services specialises in urgent and operationally time-sensitive work. Response targets, including local urgent dispatch expectations, are subject to live vehicle availability, traffic, route conditions, collection readiness, and the accuracy of the booking information supplied.
Time-critical work is booked and performed on the basis that urgency directly affects vehicle allocation, route planning, and operational commitment. Once accepted, urgent work may involve prioritised vehicle deployment and restricted ability to reassign capacity elsewhere.
For that reason, cancellations, delays, changes in instruction, or lack of readiness on urgent jobs may result in full or partial charges, particularly where the vehicle has already been dispatched, is en route, or has been reserved against other operational work.
10. AOG / Aviation-Support Work
Where M&P Courier Services accepts AOG or aviation-support-related courier work, such jobs will be treated as high-priority operational movements due to the time sensitivity commonly associated with aircraft, engineering, airport, or aviation-linked supply chain requirements.
AOG and aviation-support jobs may be subject to:
immediate dispatch expectations
close timing tolerances
direct movement requirements
rapid route or instruction changes
increased cancellation sensitivity
higher waiting cost exposure where the vehicle is held on operational standby
revised pricing where urgency, timing pressure, or live operational changes materially affect the job
The client remains responsible for ensuring that all collection and delivery instructions are accurate and that the goods are ready when booked. Any delay caused by unavailable parts, incomplete instructions, access restrictions, waiting at handover points, or changed routing may result in additional charges.
M&P Courier Services does not represent or imply any aviation, airside, customs, security, dangerous goods, or specialist regulatory approval unless expressly confirmed in writing.
11. Dedicated Vehicle Movement
Unless otherwise agreed, urgent and time-critical jobs are carried as dedicated direct movements for that booked requirement.
Where the client requests any deviation from direct movement, including additional stops, return legs, or added collections, M&P Courier Services reserves the right to reprice the work based on the revised operational requirement.
12. Operational Discretion
M&P Courier Services reserves the right to make reasonable operational decisions in order to complete the job safely and efficiently.
This includes discretion in relation to:
route selection
departure timing
management of delays
acceptance or refusal of late booking changes
treatment of excessive waiting
continuation, suspension, or repricing of work where job conditions materially change
refusal of loads that are unsuitable for the booked vehicle or not properly disclosed in advance
Where a booked job becomes materially different from the original instruction in urgency, route, access, load type, handling requirement, or timing sensitivity, M&P Courier Services may revise charges or decline to continue on the original basis.
13. Account and Non-Account Work
M&P Courier Services may supply services to approved account customers and non-account customers.
For account customers, pricing, payment terms, and any agreed service arrangements will apply in addition to these terms where separately confirmed in writing.
For non-account work, full payment may be required in advance or immediately on completion, at M&P Courier Services’ discretion.
14. Service Availability
Availability is subject to operational capacity, vehicle suitability, traffic conditions, and booking circumstances at the time of request.
Stated response targets are operational aims rather than absolute commitments, and depend on the client providing complete and accurate booking details and ensuring collection readiness.
15. Amendments and Updates
M&P Courier Services reserves the right to amend these Service Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Any updated version will apply from the date it is published or otherwise issued to the client, unless a different effective date is stated. Any amendment will not affect jobs already expressly confirmed on an earlier agreed basis, unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
